Bread Sticks

This recipe can be used to make pizza as well as French bread.

1 cup warm water
1 Tbsp. yeast
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. oil
4 1/2—5 cups flour

Mix the yeast into the warm water; add sugar and salt; mix
well. Add oil; stir in 1 cup of flour until well mixed. Add 1
more cup of flour and mix well. Keep adding flour 1/2 cup
at a time. When you can no longer stir the mixture, knead
until it is pliable. (Depending on the humidity, you may
use all of or only part of the flour.) Let dough rest for 10
minutes before making bread sticks, pizza or bread.
If making bread sticks, roll balls of dough into desired
shape. Let rise for 20 minutes (if desired); bake in a 350°
oven until golden brown.
